ABOUT ME
Hey there! I’m MK Lynn, host of 4‑74 / By: The Power of Purpose podcast and author of Carpet Fit For A King. I’m a proud Detroit native—Motown raised, California living—and a retired police officer who spent 16 years learning about people, purpose, and the power of truth. And yes… I’m still not over it. LOL.
I’ve been married for 37 years to my forever boyfriend, and together we raised one incredible daughter. I prayed she wouldn’t become a starving artist, and God showed out—she’s now thriving as a special effects artist. Whew!
For a long time, I wrestled with my Christian faith and where I fit in it, especially growing up during the “old church days.” That journey wasn’t easy, but it shaped everything I teach today. My podcast offers practical, faith‑rooted guidance for discovering your purpose and walking in the authority God has already given you, while my book goes deeper into the lessons, stories, and spiritual truths that shaped my own walk.
If you’re ready to grow in faith, strengthen your identity, and live with purpose, clarity, and confidence—you’re in the right place.

MK Lynn blends her faith journey with reassuring biblical teachings and offers practical wisdom for personal and business growth in her work Carpet Fit for a King. Growing up in a family business, Lynn learned the value of business ownership from her father. Later, she left her leadership role at a global Fortune 500 retail company and started a carpet mill business with her husband. Lynn chronicles her journey of faith and the lessons she gleaned while running the business. The work also draws insights from other life-defining events including Lynn’s husband’s life-threatening medical emergency, the couple’s move from Michigan to California, a real estate meltdown, their leaving formal jobs, and the 2008 economic recession and its impact on business.

MK Lynn shares marketplace funding for the Gospel in Carpet Fit for a King. MK shares her life story and how God worked the details out to lead her and her husband, Clint, into marketplace funding of the Kingdom. Marketplace funding requires earmarking part of one’s profits to support theGreat Commission. MK’s father taught her to dream big; when we dream big, we can accomplish great things for God and His Kingdom. This book covers Clint’s and MK’s time on the police force, working for a major corporation, being adjunct professors, and owning a specialty design carpet manufacturing facility. Throughout the book, MK acknowledges God’s role in their journey. We may make plans, but God directs the path. Giving glory to God and using His life lessons to help others are the crux of this book.

MK Lynn was indifferent to the Marketplace Ministry. Combining business and the Gospel did not make any sense to her at first, but the more she learned about it, the more she understood its importance and link to the message of the Great Commission in the Bible. With more resources, the Gospel can spread faster and reach more people. Carpet Fit for a King is Lynn’s spiritual and financial journey to fulfilling the Great Commission.
Carpet Fit for a King is a refreshing story about the author’s journey of transformation. Thisis a relatable story because we all have a passion to help others but do not know where to start. I believe that Lynn’s journey will inspire others to domore to promote the Gospel and fulfill the Great Commission. An amazing story.
